To be eligible to volunteer in minor hockey in Ontario, a volunteer must complete the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Screening Process. The process requires:
- A valid Vulnerable Sector Check. (Completed every three (3) years.)
- Completion of the online OHF Screening Declaration Form. (Completed every year.)
Vulnerable Sector Check
A Vulnerable Sector Check is required by persons who volunteer in Canada that are eighteen (18) years of age or older and who will be in a position of authority or trust relative to vulnerable individuals. Vulnerable Sector Checks are conducted by the police service that has jurisdiction in the area in which the volunteer resides and are valid for three (3) years.

Locating your HCR Number in Spordle
The following video reviews the steps required to determine what your Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) number is. You need to enter your HCR number when submitting your VSC results to the OHF. In the video, it reviews how to locate your HCR by viewing your profile. You can copy your HCR number into the clipboard by selecting the copy button to the right of your HCR number. You can then paste it into the VSC submission form when submitting your VSC to the OHF.
