TRI-CENTRE JR. ATTACK SPONSORSHIP POLICY

Effective for the 2025–26 Season

Purpose

This policy outlines the sponsorship opportunities available to support Tri-Centre Jr. Attack teams, providing clear recognition tiers for both team-wide and individual player sponsors. It defines sponsorship as financial support from a corporation or individual. The goal is to ensure fairness, consistency, and meaningful exposure for businesses and individuals who contribute financially to our program.

The policy is intended for team managers and members alike, to promote transparency and shared understanding of how sponsorships are structured, managed, and acknowledged within our organization.

1. Primary Jersey Sponsorship – $1,500

Each team may secure one (1) Primary Jersey Sponsor per season. This premium sponsorship tier includes:

  • Logo on Team Jerseys: The sponsor’s logo will appear on all game jerseys worn by the team throughout the season.
  • Top Billing on Team Banner: Prominent logo placement at the center or top of the team banner displayed at all home, away, and tournament games.
  • Dedicated Social Media Recognition: A custom post across Tri-Centre Jr. Attack’s team channels at the beginning of the season.
  • Sponsor Recognition in Team Communications: The team will acknowledge the sponsor in regular team updates and public announcements.
  • Website Recognition: Logo and link featured on the Organization Website and the Team specific Webpage.
  • End-of-Season Team Photo Gift: A framed photo of the team as a gesture of thanks.

2. Player Sponsorship – $300 per sponsor (Max 2 per player)

To help offset their individual portion of team expenses, each player may independently secure up to two sponsors per season. These sponsorships directly support that player's costs and include the following recognition:

  • Name / Logo on Team Banner: Grouped with other Player Sponsors in a consistent size and format.
  • Social Media Recognition: Included in grouped thank-you posts throughout the season via official team social media accounts.
  • Personalized Thank-You: Sponsored player will provide each sponsor with a certificate / thank-you as a token of appreciation.
  • Website Recognition: Logo and link (if applicable) featured on the Team Webpage under Player Sponsors.

3. Financial Handling and Guidelines

  • All sponsor payments must be made directly to the team’s official bank account (details provided by the team managers).
  • Player sponsors are expected to be secured prior to the start of the regular season. Any shortfall in fundraising may be covered by families directly or through approved team fundraising initiatives.
  • Team Managers must maintain accurate sponsor records and verify that sponsorship funds are directed toward individual player fees.
  • Team Managers are also responsible for ensuring logos are properly displayed on banners and Team Web Pages.
  • Logos for banners must be provided in a high-resolution format by a specified deadline (to be communicated by the manager).

4. Banner Design and Display

  • Team Banners will follow a standardized layout as determined by Tri-Centre Jr. Attack to ensure consistency across all divisions.
  • Banners will be displayed at all team home and away games including tournaments, promoting our sponsors visibly and respectfully.
  • Each team is responsible for managing its own banner. This can be handled by team staff or delegated to a parent or volunteer.

5. Limitations and Ethical Considerations

  • All sponsors must align with the values of Tri-Centre Minor Hockey and the spirit of youth sports. The organization reserves the right to decline any sponsorship that conflicts with OMHA guidelines.
  • Sponsors from tobacco, cannabis, and alcohol-related businesses—including breweries, distilleries, and wineries—are strictly prohibited under Tri-Centre Minor Hockey and OMHA rules.
  • Sponsors (be it Team or Player) may not influence team decisions, player selection, or coaching operations.
  • Teams shall not solicit sponsorships until the conclusion of tryouts. All sponsors must align with the organization’s values. Any sponsorship that risks damaging the reputation or integrity of Tri-Centre Minor Hockey is strictly prohibited.

6. Use of Sponsorship Funds

Sponsorship funds must be allocated to the team promptly upon receipt.

Funds must be used to enrich the hockey experience for players, including but not limited to:

  • Team equipment
  • Tournament entry fees
  • Travel expenses
  • Ice time
  • Team-building activities

Spending decisions should be made collaboratively by the coach, team staff, and families.

Excess funds that go beyond the team’s operating expenses:

  • May not be refunded to parents
  • Must be used for additional approved team activities or
  • Remitted to TCMH at the end of the season

7. Exceptions

Any sponsorship arrangements outside of this policy must be submitted to the TCMH Board for review and approval.

8. Compliance

All teams must adhere to this sponsorship policy. Failure to comply may result in suspension of sponsorship privileges and/or forfeiture of sponsorship funds.

9. Policy Review

TCMH reserves the right to revise this policy periodically to ensure alignment with applicable regulations and the best interests of the organization.

Revisions will be communicated to teams prior to the beginning of each new season.

Conclusion
