TRI-CENTRE JR. ATTACK FUNDRAISING POLICY
Effective for the 2025–26 Season
Purpose
This policy establishes guidelines for fundraising activities within the Tri-Centre Jr. Attack (TCMH) organization.
Fundraising refers to the collection of funds through the sale of items or participation in events organized to support team-related expenses.
All fundraising must align with TCMH’s values, and be conducted in an ethical, transparent, and lawful manner.
This policy is intended for team managers, coaches, and families to ensure consistency and shared understanding of acceptable fundraising practices.
1. Approved Fundraising Activities
a. Sale of Items
Teams may sell products such as team merchandise, raffle tickets, or promotional goods. All activities must comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations—including those set by the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission.
b. Fundraising Events
Teams may host or participate in events such as bottle drives, car washes, or bake sales to support team needs.
2. Limitations and Timing
- Fundraising may not begin until the conclusion of team tryouts.
- Each team is limited to a maximum of five (5) fundraising activities per season.
- All activities must reflect positively on the organization. Fundraisers that conflict with TCMH’s values or that risk harming the organization’s reputation are strictly prohibited.
3. Use of Funds
Funds raised through team fundraising must be:
- Deposited into the team’s official bank account promptly upon receipt.
- Used for approved hockey-related expenses only (e.g., team equipment, tournaments, travel, ice time, team-building activities).
- Tracked by the team manager, with transparency for all families involved.
Note:
- Funds may not be refunded to parents under any circumstance.
- Any surplus funds at season’s end must be either used for additional approved team activities or remitted to TCMH.
4. Approval for Exceptions
Any fundraising initiative outside of the scope of this policy must be submitted to the TCMH Board for review and approval.
5. Compliance
Teams are expected to comply fully with this policy. Failure to follow fundraising guidelines may result in:
- Suspension of fundraising privileges
- Forfeiture of raised funds
- Other disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the Board
6. Policy Review
TCMH reserves the right to review and update this policy periodically to ensure alignment with current laws and organizational priorities. Revisions will be communicated in advance of each new season.
